The finish line is almost here for Penn State football as there's only three regular-season games remaining after a heartbreaking loss to No. 2 Indiana at home.

Optimistically speaking, the Nittany Lions have improved in the three games since Terry Smith took over as interim head coach, which could provide some hope that his team can finally get a conference win in 2025.

This will be the first time since 2023 that Penn State has played the Spartans, when PSU delivered a 42-0 beatdown in Detroit. Michigan State has also lost four of the last five matchups, with the last win coming in 2021 at home.

Jonathan Smith's squad isn't faring any better; the Spartans have an identical record (3-6, 0-6 Big Ten) as Penn State with an even worse score differential.

That, along with the nationally-ranked men's basketball team starting its season and few (if any) Penn State fans making the trip, is probably why the get-in price for the Saturday afternoon matchup is in the low 30s.

Fans who do attend can look forward to one of the teams earning its first conference win of the season, which is something to be positive about.
