The Historic Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville and Bullard’s Panther Stadium have been tabbed to host bi-district playoff games later this week.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, the Bulldogs from Garrison (7-3) will take on the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs (5-5) at the Tomato Bowl.

The two teams are competing at the Class 2A, Division I level.

At the same time, the Tigers from Bremond (10-0) and Simms-Bowie’s Pirates (3-7) will face off at Bullard’s Panther Stadium.

Bremond is currently ranked No. 3 in the state in the latest Texas Football/Associated Press Class 2A-II poll.

Panther Stadium will also host a playoff game at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

At that time, the Joaquin Rams (6-4) will do battle against Centerville’s Tigers (5-5).

All of the teams playing in Bullard are a part of the Class 2A, Division II playoff structure.

Not only do the games give local fans an opportunity to support high school football in their communities, but the inflow of out of town traffic usually is good for some of the area merchants.
