The Ohio State football team is experiencing success both on and off the field. The Buckeyes are 9-0 and are dominating opponents on the gridiron. But OSU has also been on a hot streak, reaping rewards in the world of recruiting in recent days as well.

In just the last week, Ohio State has flipped a Florida State legacy commitment in four-star cornerback Jay Timmons. Shortly after that, the Bucks flipped Mason Wilhelm, son of former Buckeye Matt Wilhelm, from North Carolina. Then, once again, Ohio State received a verbal pledge from former Colorado commit and four-star defensive lineman Emanual Ruffin. All within a week.

Now, it looks like the Buckeye coaching staff is about to do one more magic trick and flip yet another highly touted recruit. According to On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong, Ohio State is now projected to flip Tennessee commit Legend Bey.

Bey is currently playing quarterback for his North Forney, Texas, high school, but is listed as an athlete on most recruiting sites. The young man has over 4,000 yards rushing, more than 3,500 yards passing, and is responsible for triple-digit touchdowns. Additionally, he is a burner with speed to spare. Imagine the possibilities in the Ohio State offense. His skill set will most likely translate to receiver at the next level.

Bey has been committed to the Volunteers since June. Should the Buckeyes flip his commitment, he would become the 13th four-star recruit to join the 2026 class. The class currently ranks No. 7 according to 247Sports. That ranking will surely rise if Bey does end up joining the Scarlet and Gray.

He’s just the kind of kid Ohio State would love to bring in. And it would be another defeat for the Vols at the hands of the Buckeyes.
