During his time as the Georgia Bulldogs' defensive coordinator, Dan Lanning learned a lot from UGA head coach Kirby Smart. Now, entering his fifth year as the coach of the Oregon Ducks, Lanning is starting to put himself on the same level as Smart, particularly in the recruiting world.

After three straight top-5 ranked recruiting classes, Lanning is setting the Ducks up for yet another elite signing class in 2027, and it looks like he might take one of the Bulldogs' prized recruits to do so. On Tuesday, multiple predictions from national college football recruiting analysts dropped for Oregon to flip 5-star cornerback Donte Wright, who has been committed to Georgia since June of 2025.

On3's Greg Biggings, Steve Wiltfong, and Adam Gorney all placed predictions for the Ducks to pull off the flip, with a decision expected in early summer.

Wright is rated as the No. 30 overall player and No. 5 CB in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, and stands at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds. He plays ball at Long Beach Poly, in Long Beach, CA., so staying home on the West Coast is likely a big draw for the elite player.

The Ducks have been working to flip this recruit for a long time now, and while it hasn't officially happened yet, there is a feeling that in the end, he will be a member of Oregon's 2027 class.
