Lou Holtz, who won 249 games as a college football head coach in a storied career with six different schools, died at the age of 89.

The College Football Hall of Famer was known for his winning ways — including Notre Dame's last national title back in 1988 — but he was also known for his array of quotes that were folksy, motivational and sometimes hilarious.
