The Big Ten released its all-conference awards on Tuesday, and the Wisconsin Badgers saw two players earn awards. Nick Boyd led the way, being a consensus All-Big Ten second team selection, missing out on the top team in a year with loaded Big Ten talent.

On the flip side, John Blackwell was an All-Big Ten selection for the first time in his career, being a consensus All-Big Ten third team selection after posting 18.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists this season.

Blackwell’s efficiency went down this year amid a couple of cold stretches, as he shot just 41.2 percent from the field. But he also looked to shoot the three-ball at a higher rate, and was much more efficient at that. On 7.1 attempts per game, Blackwell connected at a 38.1 percent clip. His 2.7 three-point makes per game were fifth in the conference.

Last season, Blackwell was also Wisconsin’s second-leading scorer behind John Tonje, averaging 15.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in a combo guard role, while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from three.

However, he was snubbed on the all-conference teams, being an honorable mention by the coaches and not even that by the media. This year, he was able to change that. Here’s a look at all of the conference teams from the coaches vote and the media vote.
