Mekhi Williams is FSU's top-ranked commit, but the Seminoles are fighting several programs to hold onto the four-star safety. He recently visited the Nebraska Cornhuskers and is also considering the Miami Hurricanes, Maryland Terrapins, and Wisconsin Badgers.

He has been committed to Florida State for nearly a year now, and he has visited Tallahassee numerous times during that stretch, with FSU's coaches making several trips to Ruskin, Florida, to visit him as well. He has now locked in his next visit with the Seminoles, announcing on social media he will visit on March 28, FSU's Legacy Weekend.

That is a massive recruiting weekend for FSU, which will invite former players back to campus, allowing them to interact with commits and top targets, selling them on joining the program.

Williams is ranked as the No. 180 overall player and No. 16 safety in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-2.5, 160-pounder is also the No. 20 player from Florida. He is FSU's only commitment ranked inside the top 300 players.

He had a productive junior season at Lennard High School, causing other programs to start trying to flip him. He finished the year with 33 tackles, two interceptions, and four pass breakups. He has scheduled an official visit with FSU for June 5, which will give them another chance to remind him why he committed to them after an early scholarship offer.
