Colorado football extended an offer to class of 2028 five-star offensive lineman R'Monie Edwards on Tuesday.

Edwards, a 6-foot-4 1/2, 310-pound tackle, is 247Sports' composite ranking's No. 1-ranked recruit from Texas for the class of 2028. He is also the No. 15 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 2 offensive tackle. As of March 11, he has received offers from 20 schools, including Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Texas, Texas A&M, among others.

The Cy Ranch High School (Cypress, TX) product is a standout multi-sport athlete and has been a varsity starter at left tackle since his freshman year. He clearly has the potential to become an impact Power Four player early in his college career.

Colorado's decision to enter its recruiting race early is promising, especially with several Big 12 programs also vying for his commitment. Deion Sanders and Co. landed Jordan Seaton a couple of seasons ago. Could Edwards be the next five-star left tackle to come to Boulder?

CU's class of 2028 offer sheet is surprisingly full this early in the cycle, including five offers out to offensive tackles. Its class of 2027 still has a lot of work with only one commitment, three-star cornerback Davon Dericho, in the fold. Most of the spring and summer will be focused on building up the 2027 class as official visits and subsequent commitments come in.
