The hype building around Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr is massive, as he’s viewed as one of the best in the nation.
Former Penn State tight end Adam Breneman took it a step further, as he recently named his top signal caller for the 2026 season prior to spring practice, and the Irish rising star was at the top of his list. His reasoning for putting Carr at the top of his list was due to multiple factors, “he’s got a big arm, great decision making, rarely takes sacks, and he shows up in the big moments.”
Breneman thinks that “he might be the most reliable quarterback in college football,” a statement that is hard to disagree with. Part of this is due to the trust that Carr has earned from the coaching staff, mainly due to his solid play and consistency.
It is very much looking like he will be one of, if not the best quarterback this coming season. Notre Dame is in good hands with Carr, and the hope is that this isn’t his last season in South Bend.
