Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is currently ten commitments deep, including two of the top-ranked offensive line prospects who chose the Aggies over several blue-blood programs, as four-stars Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson are considered blue-chip prospects with bright futures under third-year offensive line coach Adam Cushing.

Johnson, who stands at 6’7″ and 300 pounds, is already an elite pass protector and looks like the next starting left tackle for the Aggies once he gets used to the speed of the college game. On paper, Texas A&M’s offensive line lost five players and four starters, leading coach Mike Elko to land four SEC starting O-linemen from the transfer portal, who will all compete for starting spots this offseason.

While Elko and his staff are focused on recruiting talent at every position, the offensive line will continue to be the No. 1 focus, and after landing six offensive line prospects in the 2025 signing class, Johnson and Scott are just the first of likely four or five O-line commits in the 2027 cycle. However, rumors that DeMarrion Johnson might de-commit from Texas A&M were quickly squashed by the man himself.

On Wednesday, Johnson stated on X that any rumors regarding a de-commitment are completely false, as he remains 100% committed to the Aggies and will take an official visit to College Station on June 13. For Elko and Cushing, this is obviously great news, knowing that their prized commit will continue to prioritize Texas A&M over any other program.

According to Rivals, Johnson is the 19th-ranked prospect and the 33rd-ranked prospect in Texas.
