We got our first look at the College Football Playoff rankings for the 2025 season last week, and now the CFP committee is all set to announce the second set of rankings on Tuesday.
The first set of rankings is important because we get a baseline and look into what the committee values and how it sees each team at this point in the season, but now that we’ve had another week and some results that could move things, it’ll be interesting to see how a week of new data points impact the population of teams that are in the running to make the 12-team field.
We expect Ohio State to still be the No. 1 team after dominating Purdue last week, but what will the order be for No. 2 and No. 3? Did Texas A&M do enough to overtake Indiana, which had to come from behind at the last minute to beat an underwhelming Penn State team on the road? And what will happen with other Big Ten teams like Oregon, Michigan, and USC? We expect Washington and Iowa to drop out after losses, but we’ll wait and see.
