Colorado football emerges as top contender for 2027 4-star quarterback

Colorado football is emerging as a top candidate for class of 2027 four-star quarterback Caden Jones.

Jones recently spoke with Rivals about his top seven schools, which he appears to be trimming to four. Those four schools are Arizona, Colorado and Washington, with North Carolina a distant fourth.

Rivals rates Jones as the No. 299 overall recruit, the No. 25 quarterback in the 2027 class and the No. 27 player from his home state of California.

Unsurprisingly, new Colorado offensive coordinator Brennan Marion seems to be a huge factor in his recruitment.

"I just like Brennan Marion," Jones said (subscription required). "Coming from Sac State, I talked to him a little bit. He has a good offense, and he's going to do good there."

Jones says he has not been to Boulder yet, but plans to make a couple of visits soon—one in the spring and likely an official visit in the summer or fall.

The Crean Lutheran High School (Calif.) product believes all his frontrunners are even in his recruitment. The Wildcats might have a slight upper hand as Jones's older brother is a linebacker for Arizona.

The Buffaloes do not have a quarterback committed to their 2027 class and have offers out to nine recruits, with only four, including Jones, not currently committed.
