Alabama football WR Ryan Williams addresses status on SEC injury report ahead of Oklahoma

Wide receiver Ryan Williams spent the better part of the last month listed as probable on Alabama football‘s SEC Availability report.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the sophomore star put the theories about his health to rest by addressing it head-on.

“I feel great,” Williams said.

The availability report first featured Williams after he sustained a concussion in the opener against Florida State. His recent statuses have come as a result of a leg injury from a hit he took earlier in the season. But Williams’ recovery has progressed despite the lingering nature of the ailment.

Williams credited the Crimson Tide’s training staff with keeping him gameday ready despite his appearances on injury reports ahead of Alabama‘s contests against Missouri and LSU.

“Any nicks and bruises that I have, we fight day in and day out,” Williams said. “It’s great.”

While Williams didn’t play against Mizzou, he was instrumental in the following weeks against Tennessee and South Carolina. Before LSU, he emerged as available and caught 33 yards on three catches, including his first touchdown grab since Vanderbilt.

On the season, Williams has had 36 receptions for 528 yards with a long of 75 against Wisconsin. Operating in accordance with the standards of concussion protocol, the only game he missed was University of Louisiana-Monroe.

Alabama plays Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Bryant-Denny Stadium at 2:30 p.m. CT. The matchup will be shown on ABC.
