Wisconsin offers new class of 2027 recruit

A trio of high school football players, all set to graduate in 2027, have received offers from the Wisconsin Badgers.

6-foot, 175-pound cornerback Silas Nuckles was the first of the three to announce Wisconsin had given him an offer. The three-star cornerback currently plays for Buford High School in Georgia. Nuckles lists himself as an athlete, but either way, Wisconsin knows it could bulk up its number of defensive backs. Currently, they have a commitment from safety Dustin Roach in the class of 2027.

It's worth noting that both Wake Forest and Purdue already had visits lined up with Nuckles before Wisconsin had ever thrown an offer his way.

Parker Newman was the next to announce that Wisconsin offered. Newman is a tight end who stands 6-foot-5, 210 pounds and plays for Sevier County High School in Tennessee. According to 247Sports, Newman is the No. 26 tight end in the country. He's a three-star recruit who lists in his social media bio that he also plays wide receiver and outside linebacker.

Newman finished the 2025-26 season with 78 receptions for 1,059 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense he finished with 117 tackles, three sacks, eight pass break ups, and four interceptions.

Finally, Lee County High School athlete Carter Blackwell announced he also received an offer. The Georgia native is similar in size and stature to Newman and lists himself as a tight end, wide receiver, fullback, and long snapper. Blackwell is primarily a tight end. He already has a few visits lined up with the likes of UCF, Duke, and North Carolina, so Wisconsin is once again behind in the recruiting cycle.
