After LSU football’s turbulent two-week period, during which the program fired head coach Brian Kelly, offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, and athletic director Scott Woodward, many expected the team’s highly-ranked recruiting class would fall apart. However, apart from four-star edge DeAnthony Lafayette’s decommitment, the class has remained intact thus far.
On Monday, Brown shut those rumors down, seeming to reaffirm his commitment to the Tigers by posting a photo of himself from one of his recruiting trips to Baton Rouge. The recruiting world is largely speculative and vague, but Brown’s post sends as clear a message as fans can hope for.
One key domino many have looked to is five-star offensive/defensive line commit Lamar Brown, whom many were worried might flip after he responded to a social media post featuring several Texas A&M players and coaches wishing him a happy birthday.

This is important news for the Tigers, as Brown’s continued loyalty to the school is a key string in holding the 2026 class together. Additionally, given how poorly LSU’s offensive line has performed this year, Brown’s talents may be needed this coming season.
According to 247Sports, Brown has “indicated a desire to play defense,” so there’s a chance he decides not to slot in somewhere on the offensive line. However, he’s such a talented player that as long as LSU can get him in the building, it’s a win.
