The 2027 recruiting cycle is beginning to heat up as top prospects from across the nation are scheduling spring visits and setting up their official visits before December’s signing day.
Auburn football has two commits for its 2027 class, four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and three-star tight end Tank Proctor, which places them at No. 45 in the latest 247Sports rankings ahead of a busy spring filled with visits. Auburn has found success by landing talent from its home state, and Alex Golesh plans to continue the trend in his first season.
The state of Alabama is filled with quality talent in the 2027 cycle. Where does Auburn stand with the state’s elite? Here is a rundown of Rivals’ top 10 players from Alabama, and where they have Auburn in their recruitment.
10. Trent Seaborn
- Position: QB
- High school: Thompson (Alabaster)
- Position ranking: No. 19
- Rating: 4-star
Seaborn has led Thompson to several state championships since he was in the 8th grade. Now a senior, he looks to lead the Warriors to their third straight title and their sixth since 2020. Auburn was high on Seaborn’s radar for several years, but he ultimately committed to Alabama last October and is pretty firm with the Tide as he is currently helping the coaching staff recruit for the 2027 cycle.
No. 9 Cam Pritchett
- Position: DL
- High school: Thompson (Alabaster)
- Position ranking: No. 22
- Rating: 4-star
Pritchett will join Seaborn in Thompson’s quest for another state championship in 2026 before shipping off to Oregon. Pritchett committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks last June, and recently visited Eugene for the Ducks’ “Junior Day.” He is one of a few top prospects from the state who will play elsewhere beginning in 2027.
No. 8 Deshawn Hall
- Position: WR
- High school: Prattville (Prattville)
- Position ranking: No. 25
- Rating: 4-star
Prattville’s 2027 senior class has five players ranked in Rivals’ top-50 players from Alabama rankings, led by wide receiver Deshawn Hall. Hall is one of Auburn’s top priorities for the class and is set to visit the Plains June 12-14. According to Rivals, Auburn is ahead with a 40% forecast, but is battling Penn State, Michigan, and Tennessee, just to name a few.
No. 7 Jaylen Scott
- Position: S
- High school: Williamson (Mobile)
- Position ranking: No. 18
- Rating: 4-star
A one-time Auburn commit, Scott announced his commitment to Oklahoma on March 7, becoming the third player from Alabama to commit to the Sooners, joining Saraland’s Jamison Roberts and Tuscaloosa’s Tra’von Hall. Scott was Auburn’s first 2027 commitment, making his pledge in June 2025 by flipping from Florida State. He decommitted from Auburn on Dec. 20, 2025.
No. 6 Gunner Rivers
- Position: QB
- High school: St. Michael (Fairhope)
- Position ranking: No. 8
- Rating: 4-star
Like father, like son. Fairhope quarterback and son of NFL legend Phillip Rivers is heading to Raleigh to play for NC State, just like his father did from 2000-03. It was all but assumed that Rivers would go to NC State, but Auburn did receive a few visits from him during his recruitment.
No. 5 Isaac McNeil
- Position: DL
- High school: Vigor (Mobile)
- Position ranking: No. 6
- Rating: 4-star
McNeil was second in tackles last season at Vigor with 92, 16 of those being for a loss. According to Rivals’ latest projections, Auburn is ahead in its recruitment with an 88% forecast. Florida is next in line with a 4% chance to land McNeil, but McNeil has visited the Swamp more times than he has Auburn. He will visit Auburn during the weekend of May 29-31.
No. 4 Jatori Williams
- Position: OL
- High school: Central (Phenix City)
- Position ranking: No. 8
- Rating: 4-star
Williams is the top player from Central High School in the 2027 recruiting rankings and will look to have a great season under first-year head coach Cody Flournoy. Although Central is just down the road from Auburn, Alex Golesh will need to battle Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide for his signature on signing day in December. The Crimson Tide has a 92% chance to sign Williams, compared to Auburn’s 3% forecast.
No. 3 JaBarrius Garror
- Position: EDGE
- High school: Vigor (Mobile)
- Position ranking: No. 10
- Rating: 4-star
Isaac McNeil was second in tackles for the Vigor Wolves in 2025; Garror was first. As an EDGE rusher, Garror registered 106 tackles with 32.5 going for a loss. His efforts led to him winning the Class 5A Lineman of the Year award and a high place in the 2027 recruiting rankings in Alabama. He is Alabama’s to lose, according to Rivals’ forecast, with a 57% chance of signing him.
No. 2 Donivan Moore
- Position: DL
- High school: Bessemer City (Bessemer)
- Position ranking: No. 10
- Rating: 4-star
Moore announced his commitment to Auburn on Feb. 12 and remains firm in his pledge. However, Alabama is Auburn’s greatest competition until signing day.
No. 1 Ai’King Hall
- Position: CB
- High school: Dothan (Dothan)
- Position ranking: No. 9
- Rating: 4-star
The top player from Alabama for the 2027 recruiting cycle is Dothan’s Ai’King Hall, a 6-0 cornerback. Auburn appears not to be in the mix for King, as programs such as Ole Miss, Florida, Texas, and Miami are leading the pack for him. However, it is still early in the cycle, and Auburn may have a chance to slide in as a contender before December.
