Diego Pavia News Emerges After Auburn Game

Auburn and Vanderbilt played an absolute thriller in Nashville last Saturday.

It was a back-and-forth affair for four full quarters, including overtime, before Vanderbilt survived to win 45-38. The win got the program to 8-2 overall, keeping the team in contention for a College Football Playoff spot.

Pavia finished the game with 377 yards through the air, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 112 yards and added a touchdown on the ground.

After helping the Commodores beat the Tigers, Pavia was named one of the Walter Camp National Players of the Week alongside Texas Tech Red Raiders linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.

Pavia has been one of the best quarterbacks in the country this year, compiling 2,440 yards through the air, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has also racked up 613 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

This is his second season with the Commodores after coming over from the New Mexico State Aggies before the 2024 season. He was with the Aggies for two seasons before transferring.

The Commodores are No. 14 in the newest CFP rankings that came out on Tuesday night and will likely need to win out and get a little bit of help in order to make the CFP. They will be off this weekend before hosting the Kentucky Wildcats on Nov. 22.

After that, they will travel to Neyland Stadium to take on the No. 23 Tennessee Volunteers on Nov. 29, who are also still alive in the CFP race.
