LIGONIER, Pa. – Ligonier Valley High School senior Connor Faas has always been interested in aviation and football.
At St. Vincent College, Faas will combine both of his passions when he majors in aviation and airport management while playing football for the NCAA Division III Bearcats. He recently committed to the football program.
“St. Vincent has always been a school I hoped to attend,” Faas said. “When I learned that they had reopened their aviation program, I immediately became set on St. Vincent. The college has a strong reputation and is known for its high standards and commitment to excellence.
“It is the kind of place where you know you will be challenged, supported and be given the opportunity to grow both academically and personally.”
St. Vincent went 2-8 overall and 1-7 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference during the 2025 season. Coach Casey Goff leads the program.
Faas was recruited as a linebacker after playing nine years of football. He tallied 46 solo tackles in 2025 and assisted on 21 of them for 67 total. He added six tackles for loss of yardage and two sacks.
Faas compiled 96 stops over his career.
“My family got me involved in the sport when I was in elementary school,” Faas said. “I immediately took a love for the sport and never wanted to stop playing football. Football is just not a sport for me, it is a brotherhood and discipline. Football has been one of the best experiences of my life. It has been something that has motivated me, helped me grow and has allowed me to bond with an outstanding group of lifelong friends and coaches.”
Faas was one of four captains in 2025.
“Serving as one of the four captains of our team was one of my biggest accomplishments,” Faas said. “I hope my teammates feel I served them well. It was an honor to serve my team and share the field with them my senior year.”
He earned the 2025 Ligonier Valley football boosters coaches’ choice and chaos player of the year awards. Faas was an honorable mention inside linebacker on the Allegheny Football Conference team.
Faas was named outstanding lifter at the 2025 Rage in the Valley event and outstanding heavyweight lifter at the 2025 Northern Cambria tournament.
He is currently working toward earning his pilot’s license and pursuing an associate degree remotely at the Community College of Beaver County. Faas is a member of National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and Christ Happening In Lives.
Faas is the son of Jennifer Faas.
