Mizzou doesn’t have a win over a team that will (likely) go bowling. There are some nice wins over Auburn, Kansas, and South Carolina, but the team’s big claim is the three good losses to Texas A&M, Alabama, and Vanderbilt.
It’s the final home game of the year, and the eighth in the first ten games before going to Oklahoma and Arkansas.
For Mississippi State, this is the shot to get bowl eligible. Lose this, and it comes down to needing to pull off the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss to get to six wins.

Why Mississippi State Will Win
It’s not fair to judge a new quarterback by what he did in his first start, especially against the killer Texas A&M defense, but Matt Zollers struggled.
Missouri’s third-string quarterback connected 7-of-22 passes for 77 yards in the loss. The Mississippi State pass defense isn’t anything special, but the team is 5-1 when allowing fewer than 200 passing yards.

Why Missouri Will Win
How healthy is Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen? Kamario Taylor has been strong when needed – he’s a big, talented young all-around playmaker – but Shapen is the veteran baller who can handle the situation, and the Tiger defensive pressure, a bit better.
On the other side, can Mississippi State do anything to slow down Ahmad Hardy? Yeah, yeah, the talented back fattened up on the yards over the first half of the season against the mediocre, but he ripped through Vanderbilt and Texas A&M over the last two weeks.
The Bulldog run defense is far stronger than it was last year, but with the young quarterback under center, Mizzou will keep handing it off to 29 and let him go.

This should be fun.
Missouri will be fired up on Senior Day, Mississippi State will bring the extra juice going for a bowl game, and these two should put up a good back-and-forth fight.
The Tigers aren’t going to do anything funky. They’re going to hand it off, rely on the defense, repeat. They’ll get the win and keep hope alive for a third straight double-digit win campaign.
