Where Mississippi State football stands in latest bowl game projections for Week 12

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football needs one win in its last two games to reach a bowl game.
The Bulldogs (5-5, 1-5 SEC) lost 41-21 to No. 5 Georgia on Nov. 8.
They now play at No. 24 Missouri (6-2, 2-3) on Nov. 15 (6:45 p.m., SEC Network) for their last home game of the season. Then, MSU has an open week before hosting No. 7 Ole Miss (9-1, 5-1) in the Egg Bowl on Black Friday.
Mississippi State hasn’t played in a bowl game since the 2022 season.
Here’s a look at the latest bowl projections for Mississippi State in Week 12.
Mississippi State football bowl projections
The Athletic projects Mississippi State to play in the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2 against Cincinnati. The Bearcats are 7-2 and had a seven-game winning streak snapped in its last game against Utah.
None of the other outlets, including USA TODAY, have MSU in a bowl game. That’s a change from Week 11, when ESPN predicted MSU to play in the Liberty Bowl and On3 predicted MSU to the Texas Bowl.
