New jersey numbers for Missouri football transfers, freshmen, returners

Spring camp in Columbia has wrapped up, and a new batch of Missouri football jersey numbers are settled.As has been the case since Eli Drinkwitz became Mizzou’s coach, Mizzou players aren’t automatically given numbers when they arrive on campus. Instead, the players ‘earn’ their numbers through practice performances, typically in spring or fall camp.

Mizzou had 42 newcomers on campus this year, with 29 transfers and 13 true freshmen participating in spring camp, which wrapped up Wednesday, March 18. Nine more freshmen and, now, one more transfer will arrive in Columbia in the summer.

Every player who was on campus now has a jersey number for the 2026 season.

Here are the numbers that Missouri football’s transfers and true freshman will wear in their first season with the program, as well as number changes for some of MU’s returners:

  • Chris Graves Jr., Ole Miss, CB — No. 1
  • Caleb Goodie, Cincinnati, WR — No. 2

  • Donta Simpson, Miami, DT — No. 8

Late transfer addition Mark Hensley, who committed to the Tigers from Northern Illinois on Saturday, March 21, likely will not receive a number until fall camp.

Missouri had 13 true freshmen who enrolled early in January. Nine more players will join the team in the summer.

The players who will enroll this summer for Missouri are OT Johnnie Jones, LB Keenan Harris, CB Trashundon Neal, OT Brysen Wessell, DT Jocques Felix, WR Devyon Hill-Lomax, CB Ahmod Billins, RB Preston Hatfield and WR Karsten Fiene.

Number changes for Mizzou returners
