The Georgia Bulldogs are in the hunt a major defensive line recruit. Five-star defensive line recruit Marcus Fakatou said the Bulldogs made a “major impression” on him after he visited Athens on March 21, according to Jeremy Johnson of DawgsHQ.
Fakatou is the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 35 overall prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound defensive lineman goes to high school in Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California.
He still hasn’t made or scheduled an official visit with Georgia. He’s locked in official visits with Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, and Michigan. On3’s prediction model has him committing to Notre Dame. Still, it’s worth wondering if Georgia will be in his top-five once he releases it.
Georgia has been the land of milk and honey for defensive line recruits. They’ve landed five-stars such as Mykel Williams (2022), Marvin Jones (2022), Jordan Hall (2023), Elijah Griffin (2025), Isaiah Gibson (2025), and Valdin Sone (2026).
This recruiting class already looks promising for Georgia and coach Kirby Smart. They’ve earned commitments from five-star running back Kemon Spell and five-star cornerback Donte Wright. The Bulldogs have the No. 4 class in the nation after recently landing a big commitment, but getting a five-star defensive lineman like Fakatou could launch it to No. 1.
