East Robertson football's Chase Brooks resigns as coach after four seasons

Chase Brooks has resigned as East Robertson’s coach after four TSSAA football seasons, he confirmed to The Tennessean. 

Brooks went 46-7 with one Class 2A state championship game appearance and three quarterfinal berths after taking the job in 2022. 

He led East Robertson to its first TSSAA state championship game in 2023. East Robertson finished 13-2 after losing 13-7 to Riverside in the state final.  

Brooks coached 2025 Class 2A Mr. Football recipient Zach Groves, a Tennessee commitment. Groves' brother, Isaiah, was a Mr. Football recipient under Brooks in 2023, and quarterback Kason Young was a finalist in 2024.

Brooks, a Portland graduate, has past stops as an assistant at Beech, Gallatin, Mt. Juliet, Portland, Riverdale and Smyrna.
