Michigan football has landed its second defensive back commitment in as many days.
Three-star class of 2027 safety Maxwell Miles out of Centennial High School in Las Vegas pledged to the Wolverines on Wednesday, March 25, sharing the news on social media. This comes almost 24 hours after Michigan got a commitment from four-star safety Darrell Mattison out of Chicago.
“God’s grace has allowed me the opportunity to chase my dreams playing the sport I love,” Miles wrote in his commitment post. “I’m ready to put in the work,”
Miles is rated the No. 5 player in Nevada, the No. 57 athlete in the nation and the No. 735 overall player in the class of 2027 according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He had offers from a select group of Power Four teams, including Minnesota, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back is now the fifth player committed to U-M in the rising senior high school class and is the second to commit to Whittingham and the new staff.
