Florida football is undergoing a rebuild, with its chief architect former Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall. As the new staff begins to lay the groundwork for a prosperous foundation, there are several building blocks that could fortify the Gators' SEC transformation. Top-end talent has never been the issue at Florida, nor has the program's professional pathway.
Last week, NFL.com's mock draft projected two Gators in the top 50: Caleb Banks and Austin Barber, who were slated as day-one and day-two selections by analyst Chad Reuter. The program sent 10 total invitees to the combine, which ranked among the largest totals in the country.
So, Gainesville maintains a reputation as a pro factory despite struggling with results. Barber saw his stock climb over the course of last year behind reliable play up front. This year, Florida's offensive core has multiple players capable of ascending as legitimate NFL draft risers as well.
Georgia Tech transfer and quarterback Aaron Philo is projected to lead the offense as a redshirt sophomore with intriguing tools. Surrounded by an elite cast of playmakers, his trajectory hinges on earning the starting role, given his ties to new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner. If Philo can execute at a high level, his draft stock could climb quickly as the signal caller for a program with the SEC pedigree of Florida.
At running back, Jadan Baugh brings a dynamic, physical identity to the offense. With Ja'Kobi Jackson departing via the transfer portal, Baugh will see an increased workload, which could elevate his national profile. A Second-Team All-SEC selection in 2025, he has realistic goals of being the conference's top rusher in 2026.

Auburn transfer Eric Singleton Jr. offers proven SEC experience and explosiveness at the wide receiver position. His ability to stretch the field and generate yards after catch fits the model of in-demand receivers at the next level. During his time at Georgia Tech, he became the fastest to 1,000 career receiving yards since Calvin Johnson — the skill and profile are definitely there.
Bailey Stockton is a young receiver who displays versatility as an offensive weapon. The Georgia Tech transfer's ability to serve as a threat on special teams further increases his value. With familiarity with Faulkner's offense, the redshirt sophomore can provide flexibility for the Gators' passing attack.
