Running Back Isaiah Rogers Set To Make His College Commitment

Notre Dame landed a talented back this past week, but the Irish are hoping to land another as Springfield, Mass./Central standout ball carrier Isaiah Rogers is ready to make his announcement as well.

Rogers will announce his commitment at 2 PM ET today, and the talented running back will pick between Notre Dame, Georgia, Indiana and Penn State. All four schools were part of his Top 8 that was released just over a month ago, but they were the programs that stood above the rest.

All four of his finalists have a strong recent history at running back. Notre Dame will likely have the top two running backs taken in the upcoming NFL Draft, which includes 2025 Doak Walker Award winner Jeremiyah Love. Georgia has had eight runnings back draft in the last 10 years. Penn State is just two years removed from having a pair of 1,000 yard backs in the season season. Indiana had a pair of 1,000-yard backs during the 2025 season as the Hoosiers went onto win the national championship.

Rogers also clearly values successful programs. Three of the four teams on his final list have played in the College Football Playoff semifinals in the last two seasons, and one of those teams – Penn State – was knocked out by Notre Dame. Two of his four finalists have played for the championship the last two seasons, and Georgia has won the SEC Championship in four of the last five seasons.

Rogers is clearly not afraid of competition when making a final decision on schools. Looking at his four finalists, both Notre Dame and Georgia already have a back in the class, with the Irish landing a recent commitment from Texas RB Lathan Whisenton, while Georgia has a commitment from Pennsylvania star Kemon Spell

As a junior, Rogers rushed for 1,172 yards and 18 touchdowns while averaging 8.1 yards per carry. The 5-11, 205-pound running back also caught 21 passes for 219 yards and three more scores out of the backfield.

For Notre Dame, the staff clearly wants to land a second back in this class. Rogers visited campus just over a week ago along with Whisenton and South Carolina standout Tre Segarra. That trio had emerged as the top backs on the board for Notre Dame, along with Arizona standout Noah Roberts

The Central standout is ranked as the No. 146 overall player in the country according to ESPN, and he's a consensus four-star recruit.

Rogers had offers from the Irish, Georgia, Indiana, Penn State, Florida, Michigan, Washington, Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, UCLA, Maryland, Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers and Wake Forest.
