While the 2028 college football season is still years away, the Texas Longhorns are already talking to some of the top recruits available. That includes offensive tackle Austin Attalah. The California native is not currently ranked but has stood out to scouts and received an offer from Texas on March 27.

Although the Longhorns have made their interest clear, they are facing competition. Over the last few months, Attalah has received offers from Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Miami, California, Minnesota, Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon State, and San Diego State. That list should continue to grow as Attalah remains on the market.

During his high school career, Attalah has impressed as his playing time has increased. That has drawn the Longhorns' attention, who are always looking for ways to upgrade their offensive line. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have also excelled at developing lineman which could help in their recruiting efforts.

With no commitment date set, the Longhorns have plenty of time to make their best pitch. They have also been in contact with some other recruits in the 2028 class, weighing their options. That list includes four-star recruits such as Neimann Lawrence, Brysen Wright, Jaylen Addai, Braxton Rein, and Jamarios Canton.

Over the next few months, Attalah will be a player to watch. He should continue to improve, which will raise his stock. The next step for Texas is to get him to campus for a visit so Sarkisian can show the Cajon High product what his future as a Longhorn could hold.
