Mar. 31—***

During the first two weeks-ish of the NCAA tournament, I will be ranking each Big Ten football team's best nonconference game.

Quick recap: No. 1 Ohio State at Texas, Sept. 12.

2. Michigan vs. Oklahoma, Sept. 12

3. Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame, Sept 6

4. Michigan State at Notre Dame, Sept. 19.

5. Purdue vs. Notre Dame, Sept. 26.

6. Oregon vs. Boise State, Sept. 5.

7. Illinois vs. Duke, Sept. 12.

8. Iowa vs. Iowa State, Sept. 12.

9. UCLA at Cal, Sept. 5.

10. Washington vs. Washington State, Sept. 5.

11. Maryland vs. Virginia Tech, Sept. 19.

12. Minnesota vs. Mississippi State, Sept. 12.

13. Northwestern vs. Colorado, Sept. 19.

14. Nebraska vs. Ohio, Sept. 5.

15. Rutgers at Boston College, Sept. 11.

Sure, the Bulldogs were 9-4 in 2025. But they are much more difficult to play at home and figure to not put up much of a fight at the L.A. Coliseum. Maybe Matt Entz's guys will pull off a shocker.

But the Trojans should have no trouble in the other noncon games against San Jose State and Louisiana.

Lincoln Riley's team got hit with one of the nastiest league schedules you will ever see,

The schedule starts easy enough with a trip to Rutgers. But then, the Trojans need to get ready for a potentially rough ride.

Preseason Top 5 Oregon visits L.A. followed by a visit from Top 25-adjacent Washington. Then, trips to Penn State and Wisconsin.

And it gets worse. Ohio State visits the Coliseum on Halloween, then a trip to Indiana.

Hopefully for the Trojans, new UCLA coach Bob Chesney doesn't fix the Bruins his first season.

Southern Cal has been putting together strong recruiting classes under Riley. The guys need to get ready in a hurry.

At least, Notre Dame is no longer on the yearly schedule. Actually that's a bad thing for the college game.
