USC has been on a recruiting hot streak as of late, having recently added several commitments. One of those was four-star cornerback Danny Lang.
So what are the Trojans getting in Lang? 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins provided an evaluation of the cornerback. Here is what he had to say:
“-Aggressive and battle-tested defensive back that has played all over Mater Dei’s secondary and should bring that same versatility to his next stop.-Lean, but mean and will strike as an open-field tackler.-Alert as both a zone and man defender.-Anticipates breaks and swarms the catch point.-Can turn his head and locate the football when covering vertical routes.-Spent much of sophomore year lined up at safety, but really shined on the perimeter as a junior and had a breakout performance against St. Thomas Aquinas (8 tackles, 3 PBU).-Will need to eventually add some bulk, but has long arms and is age appropriate in the class.-Projects as a potential difference-maker for a College Football Playoff contender that can be positioned outside, inside or over the top.”
247Sports is particularly high on Lang, as they have him as the No. 53 overall player and No. 7 cornerback in the 2027 recruiting class. If Lang can live up to his lofty recruiting ranking, he has the potential to be a special player for the Trojans.
