Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes have landed their quarterback. Four-star quarterback Israel Abrams committed to the Hurricanes Friday on the Pat McAfee show, becoming the centerpiece of their 2027 recruiting class.

The Arlington Heights, Illinois native picked them over the Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn Tigers, FSU Seminoles, and Purdue Boilermakers. Miami offered him a scholarship and hosted him on a visit Tuesday, working quickly to secure his commitment.

Abrams is ranked as the No. 44 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 2 player from Illinois.

He is the eighth commit for the Hurricanes, and his addition gives them the No. 7 class in the country and the No. 1 class in the ACC. They entered the day ranked 12th. Miami has already landed some weapons for him, including five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear, the No. 12 player in the country.

Abrams burst onto the recruiting scene after a breakout junior season at Montini Catholic, leading them to a perfect 14-0 record and a state championship. He completed 68.5% of his passes for 4,072 yards, 40 touchdowns, and six interceptions, adding 10 rushing touchdowns. He was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American.
