Three-star safety Seth Williams committed to the Clemson Tigers on March 24, but he decided to reopen his recruitment on Thursday.

Williams committed to them while visiting, the same day he earned a scholarship offer from them. He explained to Chad Simmons of Rivals that he wants to visit other programs and feels he rushed the decision. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney does not allow players committed to the Tigers to visit other programs.

While the Florida State Seminoles have not offered him a scholarship, he listed them as one of several schools that he is paying attention to now that his recruitment has reopened. The Atlanta native visited the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Thursday and will visit the Florida Gators on Friday. He is also interested in Penn State, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Georgia, and West Virginia.

Williams is ranked as the No. 809 overall player and No. 89 safety in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 90 player from Georgia.

He had a productive junior season at Lakeside High School. He finished the year with 73 tackles, one interception, one pass breakup, and a forced fumble. He also caught 11 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns.

While FSU already has two safeties committed in Mekhi Williams and Jemari Foreman, they are not done at the position, and it looks like Williams could be a target if they decide to offer him a scholarship. He has not visited Tallahassee during his recruitment.
