2027 QB ‘loved everything’ about weekend visit to Michigan Football

Michigan extended an offer to a quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class that head coach Kyle Whittingham and his assistant are very familiar with.

Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View signal caller Thaddeus Thatcher visited over the weekend and left with an offer. It was an opportunity for him to reunite with Whittingham after decommitting from Utah following Whittingham’s move to Michigan.

“It was my first my first time to Ann Arbor and it didn’t disappoint,” Thatcher told Maize n Brew. “I’ve had a super (close) relationship with (the staff) for a long time now and know them better than any other coach. It’s why I committed to them at Utah early in my sophomore year. They have just been waiting for me to get up and check out Ann Arbor and I just loved it.”

Thatcher’s time with the coaches included offensive coordinator Jason Beck, as he got to see Beck’s handling of the unit in practice.

“Coach Beck changes the offense based on his QB’s strengths,” Thatcher said. “If anyone watches me play football or basketball or any other sport, you can see I have tremendous athleticism that not many QBs possess, so I know he can do a lot with I can bring to the table.”

Michigan quarterbacks coach Koy Detmer Jr. and Whittingham also played a major role on Thatcher’s visit.

“The QBs looked great, they are in good hands with coach Detmer,” Thatcher said. “Coach Whitt is down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and one of the best head coaches in college football.”

Simply put, the overall impression Michigan left on Thatcher was needle moving.

“Loved everything about it,” Thatcher said. “I will be back on my official visit this summer.”
