Another LSU football defender will miss the 2026 season after suffering an injury in spring practice. Sophomore cornerback Aidan Anding tore his Achilles and will be out for the year. Matt Moscona reported the news on Tuesday.
Anding's injury comes a couple of weeks after defensive end Gabe Reliford tore his ACL. LSU's defensive depth has taken a hit this spring.
Anding signed with LSU as a four-star in the class of 2025. He's a Louisiana native and played high school football at Ruston. He was a top-25 cornerback recruit in the country. Anding didn't play much defense as a true freshman, but he appeared in eight games on special teams. His only defensive appearance was a single snap in LSU's win over Southeastern Louisiana.

Anding wasn't in line for a starting gig in 2026, but this hurts LSU's cornerback room. The Tigers don't have much depth at the position. DJ Pickett and PJ Woodland form one of the top starting corner duos in America, but there are questions down the depth chart.
Ja'Keem Jackson figures to be LSU's CB3. After Jackson, it's a mystery. LSU will need a young guy to step up and provide depth.
