Michigan football head coach Kyle Whittingham knows that in order to win on the field in the Big Ten, he's going to have to do some winning off the gridiron first.
The Wolverines appear to have done just that this spring, as Wolverines Wire covered the magnitude of the program landing four-star quarterback Kamden Lopati in the class of 2027.
Lopati has lit up the scoreboard during his high school career in Utah, throwing for over 2600 yards and 34 touchdowns last season. He also has the prototypical size for a pocket passer at major D1 football, and perhaps beyond.
Michigan now has received its first notable QB commitment of the Kyle Whittingham era, as four-star Kamden Lopati has pledged to the Wolverines for the 2027 season. The 6-3, 220-pound prospect is rated among the top 10 quarterbacks in this recruiting cycle. pic.twitter.com/ph5PpeUcus

Lopati's recruiting timeline has been a bit of a winding road thus far. He initially committed to Illinois last summer before flipping his allegiance to Michigan.
