Boom! Just one day before the end of spring practice and the annual Spring Game, Ohio State got some great news on the recruiting front. Four-star offensive lineman Jimmy Kalis has committed to the Buckeyes.
Kalis is rated as the No. 30 offensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. But don't let the ranking fool you, as the Pittsburgh Central Catholic product had a long list of blue blood suitors that included the likes of Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, and more. He chose Ohio State over fellow finalists Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Texas. Standing at 6-foot-8 and 280 pounds, Kalis has the size and frame to become exactly the kind of player the Buckeyes are used to having on the O-line.
If the name sounds familiar, it might bring back some distant memories. Kalis is the half-brother of former Ohio State commit turned Michigan signee, Kyle Kalis. The older brother originally picked the Buckeyes out of Cleveland St. Edward High School but flipped his commitment to the Wolverines, where he was a four-year letter winner. He took some shots at OSU on his way to Ann Arbor, but would never experience a win against the Buckeyes. Sounds like Jimmy learned a valuable lesson.

The newest member of the 2027 recruiting class was a first-team All-State selection by the Pennsylvania Football Writers after a runner-up finish in the 6A state championship. Kalis becomes the 10th player to commit to Ohio State's 2027 class.
