The Auburn Tigers have landed a commitment from four-star tight end Georgia Lamons Jr., who committed Saturday during his visit for A-Day.
It is a major win for Alex Golesh and the rest of Auburn‘s coaching staff, who beat out the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, and Florida State Seminoles for the 6-foot-4, 213-pounder. Lamons was previously committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, but reopened his recruitment last year, and the Tigers were able to win the second battle for the Quitman, Georgia, product.
He has been a frequent visitor on the Plains this year, with Saturday being his third trip already. He is set to return on June 12 for his official visit. While he has official visits scheduled with his other contenders, the Tigers will now work to get those cancelled.
Lamons is ranked as the No. 244 overall player and No. 11 tight end in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 27 player from Georgia.
He fills a hole in Auburn’s 2027 recruiting class that opened on Thursday when Trae Proctor flipped from Auburn to the Kentucky Wildcats. The Tigers once again have two commitments, with Lamons joining four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore.
