'I really want to take the Sooners in this game' – Fox Sports' Joel Klatt predicts the final score of Oklahoma vs Alabama

Alabama will host the Oklahoma Sooners this weekend in what’s essentially a “revenge game” for the Crimson Tide.
Oklahoma beat Alabama 24-3 in Norman last season. The loss effectively eliminated Alabama from the 12-team College Football Playoff.
Both programs are currently in position to reach this season’s College Football Playoff (Bama is 8-1 and Oklahoma is 7-2). Alabama just needs to go at least 2-1 in the final three games (at home against Oklahoma and Eastern Illinois and on the road against Auburn) to lock down a spot in the playoff.
The Sooners, meanwhile, likely need to win out (OU has games remaining at Alabama and at home against Missouri and LSU).
Fox Sports Joel Klatt wants to pick Oklahoma to beat Alabama this weekend, but he can’t
Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt made his predictions for this weekend’s biggest games. Klatt wants to pick Oklahoma to win outright against Bama, but he can’t do it.
“I’m thinking to myself, ‘Boy, I really want to take the Sooners in this game,'” said Klatt. “And I just can’t. I just can’t. I will take the points. But I cannot in good conscience say that Oklahoma is going to go in there with an offense that we just don’t know if they’re going to be able to score a lot of points and beat Alabama, in particular, with that elite passing game.
“So here’s what I’m going to do. I couldn’t go as far as an Oklahoma outright [win]. Bama has won 17 straight at home, so give me Alabama in a thriller, 24-21, by three. But Oklahoma covers the five and a half….I think that Bama somehow wins the game and Oklahoma covers.”
Both of these teams have great coaches. Alabama obviously has the edge with the game being in Tuscaloosa, but Oklahoma showed earlier this month with their win over the Tennessee Vols in Knoxville that they can play well on the road. I like Klatt’s prediction, but I wouldn’t be surprised with any outcome in this game.
Alabama and Oklahoma are set to kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Saturday.
