Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels continued their momentum on the 2026 recruiting trail, landing another commitment.

On Friday, the Tar Heels received great news when four-star linebacker Duyon Forkpa Jr. pledged his commitment to the Tar Heels. He picked UNC over Michigan, Miami, Missouri, and Florida, among other programs that offered him in his recruitment.

He's the third player to commit to UNC this week, just adding to what is becoming a very important recruiting class for the program.

Forkpa visited UNC last weekend and it didn't take him long to make his decision. It's a good recruiting win for the Tar Heels, impressing him enough to be able to get that commitment.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is ranked No. 316 overall, the No. 19 linebacker and the No. 8 player in the state of Maryland in the 2026 recruiting class per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He's the 39th player to commit to North Carolina's 2026 recruiting class, which is now ranked No. 15 in the nation.
