Kirby Smart and his staff are pushing to add tight end Brock Williams to their growing 2027 recruiting class. With eight commitments, the Georgia Bulldogs‘ 2027 cycle already ranks seventh in the nation and third in the SEC.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 210 pounds, the Libertyville, Illinois native is a four-star recruit, the No. 4 tight end and the No. 77 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings. He put together a strong junior season at Libertyville High School, racking up 44 receptions for 596 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He’s narrowed down his list of choices to an impressive group of schools. Rivals’ Chad Simmons previously reported that Georgia, the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes are the final three teams.
The Bulldogs have worked hard to stay right in the mix. They’ve hosted Williams for three unofficial visits in Athens. One even came during Georgia’s 43-35 win over the Ole Miss Rebels on Oct. 18 last season.
However, their efforts may not be enough in the end. On Thursday, Rivals’ Charlie Williams logged an expert prediction for the tight end to commit to the Longhorns. He has been correct in 75% of his 20 all-time predictions.
Landing Williams would be a major addition for the Longhorns and their second tight end commitment alongside three-star JT Geraci. It would also put their total number of commitments to 10, boosting a group that already ranks 12th in the nation.
Meanwhile, it would leave Georgia continuing its search for a tight end in the 2027 cycle. The Bulldogs have offers out to several talented options, though, including four-star Jaxon Dollar, four-star Jordan Karhoff and three-star Judah Lancaster.
