Defensive end Zion Young has been the first Missouri Tiger selected in this year’s NFL Draft. Young will be headed to Baltimore in the 2nd with the 45th overall pick.

Young spent two seasons with Missouri after his first two years at Michigan State. In his senior season at Mizzou, Young played in all 13 games – recording 42 total tackles and a team-leading 14 quarterback hurries which earned him a First Team All-SEC selection by the coaches.

Perhaps Young’s most memorable moment with Mizzou was his game-winning scoop and score touchdown vs Oklahoma in 2024.

In his final game of his Mizzou career, Young recorded four total tackles with 1.5 TFLs in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl loss to Virginia.

With this selection, Missouri has had at least one player drafted dating back to 2005. Young becomes Mizzou’s third consecutive 2nd Round pick joining Ennis Rakestraw in 2024 and Luther Burden III last year.
