Alabama football just made a statement, and it’s one that should have the rest of college football paying attention.
Five-star quarterback Elijah Haven, the No. 1 signal caller in the 2027 class, has officially committed to the Crimson Tide over Georgia Bulldogs football. And this one didn’t happen overnight. This was built the right way—over time, through trust, and through relationships that kept getting stronger every time he stepped foot in Tuscaloosa.

From the Third Saturday in October to LSU weekend, Junior Day, and A-Day, Alabama kept showing Haven exactly what the program is about. And eventually, it became clear.
That matters.
Because this wasn’t a last-minute decision.
This was built over time.
Visit after visit.
Relationship after relationship.
“We've chosen Alabama as the place for me,” Haven said. “We just think that it's the best fit for me. Through the constant communication, it's just been great getting to know these coaches for the past year or so. We feel it is the best fit, and the place where I can be developed the best, both as a player, but as a person as well.”
That right there tells you everything.
This wasn’t about hype. This wasn’t about pressure. This was about development, and Haven sees it in Kalen DeBoer and his staff.
At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Haven already looks like the future of Alabama football. But what makes this commitment so important is the mindset behind it. He didn’t just fall in love with the program, he grew comfortable in it.
“There is definitely a huge comfort level with the program,” Haven said. “The coaches have done a great job recruiting me as a person and player across the board so every time we visit I know it will be nothing short of amazing.”
That comfort starts with relationships, and one of the biggest has been with quarterbacks coach Bryan Ellis.
“It was great being with coach (Bryan) Ellis,” Haven said. “Coach Ellis is a great person as much as he is a coach. We spend a good bit of time together. He does a great job of communicating and always seeing how me and the family are doing.”
That matters. Especially in today’s recruiting world.
And if you really want to understand why this decision was made, listen to what his father had to say.
“I think they have done a good job of making us feel as though Elijah would be a priority,” his father said. “What I appreciate the most is the honesty… The two most important things to me as a dad are stability and development. Alabama is checking both of those boxes.”
That’s powerful.
Because while everyone else is chasing headlines, Alabama is still building something real. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb and this entire staff have created an environment where quarterbacks can grow, develop, and succeed at the highest level.
And Haven is proof that recruits are seeing it.
On the field, the production speaks for itself: nearly 4,000 passing yards, over 60 touchdown passes, and a state championship season. But this commitment is bigger than stats. This is about leadership. This is about the future.
Haven now joins a strong 2027 class alongside Trent Seaborn, giving Alabama football something every elite program needs: a pipeline at quarterback.
This is what Alabama does.
Reload, not rebuild.
And when the No. 1 quarterback in the country looks at everything in front of him and says Alabama is where he can become his best self, not just as a player, but as a person, that sends a message.
Alabama football isn’t slowing down.
The future just got a whole lot stronger.
Roll Tide.
