Texas flips 2026 athlete Charlie Jilek away from Minnesota

For the second time in two months, Portage Central (Mich.) three-star athlete Charlie Jilek has found a few home, flipping his commitment from Minnesota to Texas on Thursday.
That comes a little over a month after he previously moved his pledge from UCF to the Golden Gophers.
Jilek is the No. 1414 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. Currently ranked as a tight end, he checks in as the country’s No. 88 player at that position and the No. 25 recruit in Michigan.

He is the first tight end commitment of the cycle for Steve Sarkisian and Co., who previously had a silent pledge from Keawe Browne. The California native opted to back off that pledge though and is now committed to Boise State.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Jilek is the 21nd commitment of the cycle for the Longhorns, who came into the day with the No. 8 class in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
He joins a group headlined by a trio of five-stars in quarterback Dia Bell, edge rusher Richard Wesley, and linebacker Tyler Atkinson.
