UConn football adds transfers at OL and DB

Jason Candle and the UConn football staff continue their work on the roster, with the recent announcement of two commitments from the transfer pool. Both are joining for this fall and should help with experienced depth at key positions.

Mason Howard, Offensive Lineman

Howard, a 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive lineman, announced on X on Wednesday that he will transfer to UConn from Wofford.

Going into his freshman year, Howard was ranked a top-115 interior offensive lineman nationally and a top-45 player in Virginia. He started his college career at Old Dominion before transferring to Wofford after two years. He played in 20 games with six starts for the Terriers and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Jalen Brown, Cornerback

Junior college cornerback Jalen Brown announced on X on Wednesday that he will transfer to UConn. Brown chose the Huskies over offers from Louisiana Tech and Auburn.

Coming out of Leesburg High School in Florida, Brown played at City College of San Francisco in 2025, playing in eight games as a freshman. In total, Brown racked up 22 tackles, two TFL, and broke up three passes. He also returned four kicks with a long of 63 yards. He’ll come to UConn as a sophomore.
