The Wisconsin Badgers have landed a commitment from three-star defensive lineman David Hill, something that has been in the works for over a year.

The Badgers have been recruiting him since July 31, 2025, when they offered him a scholarship. The Homewood, Illinois, product has visited Madison multiple times since then, including twice this year before he pledged to Luke Fickell's program on Friday. He picked them over the Purdue Boilermakers and Minnesota Gophers.

Hill is ranked as the No. 883 overall player and No. 84 defensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 35 player from Illinois. At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, he has the frame to play along the interior of the defensive line, where he can use his strength and speed to disrupt blockers.

He is Wisconsin's 12th commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle. His addition gives them the No. 21 class in the country and the No. 8 class in the Big Ten, according to Rivals. He is their third commit along the defensive line, joining three-star edge Isaac Miller and three-star defensive lineman Will Zaccagnino.
