Richland's Arnold Mugerwa narrows choice of schools down to 5

Richland junior football player Arnold Mugerwa recently narrowed his choice of schools down to five.

At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Mugerwa will later choose between Florida State, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers or Virginia State. He also has Football Bowl Subdivision offers from Cincinnati, Connecticut, Duke, James Madison, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Toledo and Wake Forest. Mugerwa has 16 NCAA Division I FBS offers.

Mugerwa, a 2025 all-state selection, hauled in 54 passes for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2025 season. In three seasons, he has 108 catches for 2,299 yards and 28 scores. Mugerwa totaled 31 receptions for 702 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024. On defense, he has 101 tackles (30 solo), three interceptions and two fumble recoveries over three seasons.

Mugerwa totaled six catches for 162 yards and three scores in a 2025 Week 5 win over Forest Hills. At free safety, he amassed two interceptions and 36 tackles.

Mugerwa scored both of his team’s touchdowns in a 14-7 District 6 Class 2A title game win over McCort-Carroll Catholic in 2025, including a 36-yard pick-six interception return and a 36-yard catch.
