Georgia’s athletic budget for fiscal year 2027 is reflecting increased revenue as the SEC moves to a nine-game conference football schedule this coming season.

The school is projecting a $17.1 million increase in its conference distribution which also is affected by the College Football Playoff contract, Stephanie Ransom, Georgia’s deputy athletic director for finance, told the athletic board’s finance committee on Monday May 4.

Georgia reported a projection of $54.5 million in its SEC/NCAA revenue in its fiscal year 2026 distribution.

The committee voted to recommend a FY 2027 budget of about $239.1 million, an increase of 7.2 percent.

The athletic board will vote to approve the budget on May 21 at its spring meeting in Greensboro.

Other drivers of the revenue increase are postseason football and NIL implementation “which positions us to remain competitive while maintaining long-term financial discipline.”

The budget also includes about a 10 percent increase in expenses.

Georgia projects its football ticket revenue to rise to $3.2 million.

“This is largely tied to the Georgia-Florida game being hosted in Atlanta this season,” Ransom said.

Georgia will receive $7.5 million for the game that will be played Oct. 31 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Athens Banner-Herald has reported.

Georgia athletics is for the first time budgeting for postseason football revenue “to reflect our competitive success,” after making the 12-team playoff in back-to-back seasons.

Georgia is also projecting additional revenue of about $500,000 after the Board of Regents increased student fees $10 per semester. Georgia had listed $3.87 million in student fees in June of 2025.

Ransom said Georgia NIL operations are budgeted for $22.5 million for FY2027. That includes revenue share with athletes as well as consulting services, supplies and software.
