Three-star interior offensive lineman Reis Russell has committed to the Washington Huskies, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The lineman chose the Huskies over the Georgia Bulldogs, as Russell was a top target for coach Kirby Smart and his staff prior to the announcement. Russell is the son of Philadelphia Eagles senior personnel executive Matt Russell.
At 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, Russell is a massive offensive lineman that would have been an excellent addition to Georgia’s 2027 recruiting class. The big man’s top-four schools included Georgia, Washington, Miami and USC. Russell took an official visit to Athens on April 17, but the lineman has opted to commit to Washington despite Georgia’s interest.
Russell is ranked as the No. 54 interior offensive lineman and the No. 964 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Rankings. He is the No. 4 recruit in Colorado. Russell could easily emerge on the Huskies’ offensive line next season. Georgia was a top option for the talented lineman and the Bulldogs will now turn elsewhere following Russell’s commitment.
Georgia has lost a some talent from their 2027 recruiting class recently. Four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse recently flipped his commitment from UGA to UCLA, while the No. 1 tight end in the Georgia, Grant Haviland committed to Vanderbilt over Georgia.
