PANAMA CITY − Florida State University Panama City will host its third annual youth football camp at Tommy Oliver Stadium on June 6.
According to a news release, the free camp will be run by Javien Elliott, a former FSU defensive back, and former Florida Bobcats arena league defensive back Boris Jackson, founder of Speed Plus Sports.
The FSU PC football camp is for kids ages 9 to 17. Kids will learn the fundamentals of football and polish their athletic skills.
Elliott also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. He was a former Florida State walk-on that earned a scholarship in 2015.
During the 2015 season, Elliott played in 12 games at Florida State University and finished the season with 37 tackles.
Participants of the football camp will be split into groups depending on their ages. Sessions will be non-contact with a flag football style approach.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to give local athletes the chance to be coached by former Division I and NFL players,” Elliott said. “I believe there’s a lot of talent here—on and off the field—and I want to help develop it in any way I can.
Tommy Oliver Stadium is located on the campus of Bay High School at 351 E. 13th St. On-site registration will begin at 8 a.m., with warm-ups and skills training starting by 9 a.m.
Refreshments will be provided. Parents/guardians must submit a separate registration form and waiver for each child participating in the camp. Register in advance at Eventbrite.com.
