Micah Huff picks every Big Ten game in Week 12

Big Ten football, even in weeks with the least competitive slates, has still produced enough entertaining games to keep fans on the edge of their seat. This week, the USC Trojans get a matchup against Iowa which will prove if they are battle-tested or if they are frauds. If you overanalyze this week, it may appear that there will be many blowouts this week, but with the consistent chaos in the Big Ten, there could be many games that go down to the wire.

Here are my picks for Week 12 in Big Ten football:

Oregon over Minnesota (Friday)

The Oregon Ducks could have another week with a couple of their playmakers missing in this game, as last week almost cost them against Iowa. Minnesota and Iowa are two different teams, but P.J. Fleck and the Gophers are no strangers to having a surprise game. This defense is solid enough to make this a competitive game. Dante Moore will lead the Ducks to another victory, but it will take some heroics in the 4th quarter for that to happen.

Wisconsin over Indiana

Wisconsin will come back to reality this week. No way this team could pull off a close game versus Indiana, where their punter is their leading passer. I think the Hoosiers get back to their dominating ways and win by 30 against the Badgers.

Michigan over Northwestern

Northwestern is frisky, but against teams that are more talented, they tend to get overpowered. I think this will be a good game for Michigan to come off the bye against and be a great tune-up game for Ohio State. Northwestern will challenge them early on, but Michigan will run to victory with their dominant run game, and Bryce Underwood will be better than he has been the last couple of weeks.

USC over Iowa

Iowa has provided all the good teams a tough challenge. Will the Trojans prove they are a good team by beating Iowa? The Trojans have enough firepower to with put up points on a tough Hawkeyes defense, and this is their game to silence the doubters. It will take a good performance from Jayden Maiava, and it will take Lincoln Riley being on his A game. The Trojans will win this game, but it will take everything they’ve got.

Illinois over Maryland

No reason to believe in the Terrapins anymore. If the Fighting Illini blow out Maryland like I think they will, that has to be the final straw for Mike Locksley. Illinois will cover the -14.5 margin set for them in this game.

Penn State over Michigan State

This will be a fun game between two very disappointing teams this season. Penn State is coming off giving Indiana a close call. This team played really hard against one of the best teams in the country, and they played hard for interim head coach Terry Smith. Michigan State took Minnesota all the way to the brink with freshman Alessio Milivojevic. I think they build off of that and do it again versus Penn State. This game will be closer than people think, Penn State will still get the victory though.

Washington over Purdue

Just like the Huskies have done all season, at home they will blow out the Boilermakers. Demond Williams will look like one of the best quarterbacks in the country and put up 4 total touchdowns. Only to follow this up with a disappointing loss on the road to UCLA. This is just how the Huskies operate. As much as I want to say I don’t trust this Washington team, Purdue is not good enough to pull off an upset.

Ohio State over UCLA

UCLA has given me no reason to think they will be competitive in this game with their recent streak of losses. Don’t know how confident this program is in this coaching staff to build a winner now. Confident to say that Julian Sayin will have another Heisman-level performance this week against this poor Bruins defense. Buckeyes by a million.
