Washington Football Extends Offer to 2028 4-Star New Jersey OT

Since Washington hired Jedd Fisch as its head coach in January 2024, the number of recruits from the state of New Jersey to receive a scholarship offer has increased significantly.

The latest from the Garden State to add an offer from the Huskies is four-star Camden High School offensive tackle Eytan D'oleo, one of the top 30 players at his position in the 2028 recruiting class. At 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds, to say his 'ET' nickname isn't equatable to his alien-esque abilities would be more than disengenuious.

Prior to UW entering the mix on Friday afternoon, several other Big Ten schools had recently joined the mix, including Ohio State and Penn State, along with Auburn from the SEC and Duke from the ACC, over the past month.

In the eight recruiting classes before Fisch arrived at UW, the program hadn't offered a single football recruit from the state of New Jersey. Since he's taken over the team, 23 players from the Garden State have been offered, based on 247Sports' recruiting database, with that number increasing by the month, now that the 50-year-old coach is in Seattle.

Coming into this week, only two recruits from the state received an offer from the Huskies in the 2028 class, which makes Switzer and co. getting in early is a significant note when it comes to his long-term recruitment over the next 18 months.

As a true sophomore at Camden, the athletic offensive lineman started at right tackle and proved to more than hold his own for the New Jersey high school. D'oleo carries his weight incredibly well and took a handful of snaps at right guard, which could help his acceleration on the field as a freshman in college, wherever he chooses to sign over a year from now.

Since Fisch and UW have expanded their reach into the Garden State, only one recruit, four-star DePaul Catholic quarterback Derek Zammit, has signed with the program, while a handful of other recruits have at least taken a visit to Seattle before choosing another school.
